The Sun is Shining

I don’t believe it – the sun is actually shining in Dunedin – who’d have thought it. Hopefully it will last long enough for my sister to arrive so we can take the kids to the beach.

I’ve just been down to Moana Pool to go to the gym. Only $7.50 to attend the gym and swim, bargain!

Boiled Sweets and Parties

Awww bless Air New Zealand, I had thought that it was just a childish memory – them giving out boiled sweets from a big basket just before descent. But no, it still happens! I didn’t have my usual pack of Extra so I was mighty pleased.

In other news, one party half completed (dinner to go), and two parties left to go.

Goodbye Australia, Hello New Zealand

It’s been grand, but it’s time for me to go. Next time, more time in Melbourne I think, I wish I had time to see more.

More planes then I arrive in the Land of the Long White Cloud, at midnight…

Bondi

Bondi is a curious kind of place to stay, lots of people wandering about in shorts despite the fact that its only about 16 degrees with a strong wind blowing. It’s like it’s the law to dress in beach clothes every day.

Well now jet lag just sucks doesn’t it. Fell alseep on the sofa at 9.30 last night. It was actually very surreal, my friend Vic was chatting to me and I could hear everything she was saying but was unable to respond. Then she said ‘you’re alseep aren’t you?’ at which point i woke up properly and said ‘yes I was, better go to bed now’. Hopefully I’ll be able to stay up a bit later tonight – I’d imagine laying off the wine will help.

It’s Not So Bad

This is the best it gets in economy (and it’s actually pretty bloody good). White wine, free wireless broadband, 80 films and all the sitting on my arse I desire for the next 11 hours..

Skype works too. Must dig out my portable Skype headset so I can phone a friend on the way home. Yes I am a proper geek. Only works between London and Singapore though.
