In the Quality Chop house on Farringdon Road on Saturday night, popped to the loo lateish in the proceedings and spotted the very lovely ‘Siobahn’ (Orla Brady) from Mistresses sitting in the next room. Rushed back from the loo to tell the Boyf. He was all a flutter, ‘what shall I do?’ he said, ‘go to the loos and have a good look on the way back’ I advised. So he did.
We also left the same time as her and the two of us were somewhat star struck. We don’t usually get like that, but a drink or two had been consumed and Orla Brady is very beautiful and would you believe it she is 47!

I didn’t really mean to change my header but I was fooled once again by the wordpress inability to preview a new header image. So there we are at least I have managed to stick a title on it now.
I shot the panorama I used for this from the top of New Zealand House on Thursday night. You can see a couple more and some other more people/drink oriented shots on my flickr pages.

I recently chanced upon a mascara in a department store in Dubai (obligatory name drop), which claimed to be waterproof and smudge proof. Whoa I thought, for a low maintenance kind of woman, this is the answer to all my panda eyed problems. So I snapped it up and I have to say – it works, I can rub my eyes and it stays put. The only downside is that actually very little seems to shift it, for example, not my eye make up remover….

Here I sit feeling like a bloated wee beach ball after a very long weekend of indulgence, wondering why if i feel soooo fat, why am I so goddamn cold? My trusty iPhone informs me its 1 degree celsius outside and the heating at work has been off all 4 days of the weekend, half the radiators don’t heat fully and the 1st floor (where my desk is situated) has windows on 3 sides. None of the windows are double glazed and the wind just breezes on through. My hands are cold, my nose is cold and my body is also a bit cold despite having put my coat back on…
I can only hope that this cold snap does not last through till April. April 1st is my designated ‘get my lazy arse back on a bike’ day. There, I’ve commited to it in writing – no excuses!

Items we might like to procure:
Dishwasher – our system seems to have broken down, that is; no one is doing them
Better quality table football - ours is good, but it could be better
Small dog – to eat the leftovers when we order pizza or fish and chips for lunch
A shower – some of us cycle, (or plan to cycle) to work when its warmer
Dumbbells – so that on the days I don’t make it to the gym I still get to work out a bit (we already have some exercise balls).

Last month I read about 20 pages of Atonement on a flight from Dubai to London before I watched a movie and subsequently left the damn thing on the plane. However there was an interesting paragraph in there in which the young girl has a miniature in her bedroom. It notes that gievn that she is a fairly controlled/controlling type of person it would naturally follow that she appreciates the constraints a miniature scene represents. The tidiness and encapsulation of the scene appeals to her nature as someone who likes to have control over her own situation.
Given then that I am a ‘control enthusiast’ it makes sense that I also like all things miniature. In light of this interest, I was completely fascinated by the idea of hidden art in miniature form as linked to by Because they made me. See hidden street art here. See also Little People.
