Kim and Kirsten,
Here’s my sister’s email below in response to your offer for the guest book attendant.
I am wondering if it is still okay for me, my sister and her girls to come to the Bridal Luncheon/Tea Party on Friday?
Thanks,
Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Thank you so much for the thoughtful gesture. Emily said she would not feel comfortable being the guest book attendant. We do not want to offend anyone, that is so nice to offer. Emily does not feel left out, she is ok with it. We are sorry about the dress situation. The store did refund my money, thank goodness….
Thanks,
Pattie

HI Debbie & Kirsten,
That is so sad (and I’m sure very frustrating for your sister) that the dress came in the wrong size. The suggestion I made to Kirsten is that Emily could be the guest book attendant? This way she could still have a role at the wedding and could wear any dress she would want to wear. I hope the store makes things right for them given they ordered the wrong size.
Kirsten said this sounded like a good idea to her– do you think Emily would like to do that (so she could still be part of the wedding party)?

I hate shoe shopping apart from times like today where I’ve managed to find a lovely pair of heels, on sale for £12!

2nd email
Debbie,
Emily’s dress came in yesterday and I went to pick it up today. Well, I ordered a size 14, that’s what she measured at the store, and they had a size 12 for me to pick up. It does not fit her. It turns out the style only comes in sizes 2-12, and they did not tell me this at the time of order. The store is offering to let it out at the sides, and maybe put extra material at the bottom. I am a little upset about this since I paid $155 for the dress. I’m sorry to change this at this time, but the dress does not fit Emily, so she will not be able to be in the wedding. Even if they take it out at the sides, I don’t think it will look right. I hope I explained this well enough…

A few weeks ago I receive this email to my email address. I wrote back to let them know they had the wrong email address but today I received a second email. (see next post).
Hi Deborah and Kirs
I sent an email to Kirs earlier this morning regarding checking back on those persons who have not RSVP yet for the wedding. I had suggested that she might ask for your help on this- as Jon is away for the weekend- to make follow up calls or emails. Some you might know because they might have told you directly if they do/don’t plan to come. We have to give the reception hall the final count on Tuesday and this is why we need to try to make as many follow up calls this weekend or Monday as possible. Given the short timeframe I thought I would go ahead and forward you the list of those invited by Jon who have not yet RSVP.
Therefore – if you know for sure they are not attending – you can email Kirsten and let her know or ask them to RSVP as a no so we have a correct final count. I think Jon told me that his grandparents could not attend- but I wanted to make sure I had this correct.
1. Grandfather Vondrasek and wife
2) Grandmother Moseley
3) Patrick and Carolyn Morrison
4) Bhem Family (5)
5) Anika & PJ Deas
6) Jeff Pratt
7) Talbott Family (5)
8) Peter Bounsanga
9) Chris Gruber
Also, do Nate and Mathew have dates coming and if so what are there names (as we are working on seating arrangements also). I think we are just going to designate tables by families and then leave to each family to figure out from there.
21 days until the big day!

I have a secret boyfriend. So secret, even he doesn’t know it. I’ve never met him, but I’ve seen photos. He’s a friend of a friend so I know a bit about him, he’s single so it’s all perfectly feasible. Well, feasible aside from the fact that he lives in a different country. Until such time as he becomes attached again, (which I’m sure he will shortly, the good ones get snatched up quick), I’m gonna pretend we are going out, but we’re both quite busy so we don’t see each other much (or ever, as it goes).

I’ve got to hand it to ol Boris, he may be a shambolic looking, fluffy haired twit, but I do think he is improving cycling in London, it seems every other day I hear of something good he is doing for cyclists. For example yesterday it was that Crossrail HGV drivers are being taught cyclist awareness. These are the kind of preventative measures we need on the roads, rather than punishment after the fact. It’s no good tutting after yet another cyclist is killed by a lorry turning left.
Also – the cycle hire scheme is coming this summer. While I’m not looking forward to tourists clogging the roads as well as the pavements, I am looking forward to being able to cycle short journeys instead of bussing or walking. So nice to be able to cycle then ditch it and go for a drink or whatever without worrying about someone nicking my bike.
In other cycling related news:
Last night: Bike + rain + my arse = very, very, wet
This morning: almost squashed by a vehicle on the wrong side of the road as I crossed a junction, he pulled out of a line of traffic to turn right. You seriously need eyes all round your head to survive out there – its not enough just looking right.

Article in the Metro this am about the gap year student who was shipwrecked. It’s actually not that much of a story, she and her fellow sailors were rescued after nearly two days in a lifeboat.
What did strike me about the article though, was that she and her family were very attractive. Also they mentioned both parents ages (relevance?) and what the father does for a living. Tell me, what bearing does his occupation have on the story and if it was relevant why wasn’t his wifes occupation mentioned?
