Utility, futility

Wow gas is spensive isn’t it? I just received my bill for the gas I used while I was job hunting. I was running the central heating pretty much 8 hours a day for about 6 or 7 weeks. Just for everyone elses info, it costs £180, ouch.

Electricity has also come in and is a kerazy £80 for the period 21Nov to 18 Jan. I really can’t think why it would be that much, my oven is gas. The only thing I can think of is that the boiler requires electricity to work. Whatever the case, I’m thinking I might start switching things off at the plug from now on.

  1. My discounted Eon deal just expired after a year, so I need to hunt around to see who is cheapest again. My heating has been on all the time for the past couple of weeks, dreading that bill.

  2. I know… right?!?!?!
I’m moving to Brazil!!! at least these bills are cheaper there!! :)

    • Thing is though, I’m from NZ and people don’t heat their houses well at all there, it’s usually only the living room, so I consider being warm to be one of the best things about living here. I could never be one if those people turning it down to save money, there are only so many layers I can wear.
