Its kinda weird getting used to a whole new set of people at my new job, although I suppose I should be used to that by now (3rd job new job in one year!).
This set of people includes a couple of who are not without their eccentricities. They are a wide ranging mix of ages probably from 28 or so to 60 something, a marked contrast to my last job where every person was under 40.
It’s strange being committed to being in the same place for 8 hours a day. No more strolling out for coffee, or popping into the library. No more long lunches. No more ambling round the supermarket mid afternoon. No more yoga class at midday followed by an omelette and chips in my favourite caf. Actually its probably a good thing, I can’t make a habit of omelette and chip eating – not with my new pot belly and love handles.
Annnyway I do like having a desk again, there’s even a pen holder with pens and tippex and stuff in it. There’s always milk in the fridge and all the Gold Blend I can drink.
